Historical Buddha mangal taal is located in Bardghat Municipality-12, Nawalparasi. This lake is associated with Gautama Buddha. Gautama Buddha used to bathe in the lake.

This lake is spread over about 2 bighas and the total area of this lake with forest is about seven and a half bighas. It is said that religious people used to live around Buddha Mangal Lake during Buddha’s time.
In this area, there are Buddha Vihar, Jaladevi Temple, Shiva Temple, Hanuman Temple and Radha-Krishna Temple. It is also a habitat for migrating and local birds.
