Bhote Koshi River originates in the Tibetan plateau Shisapangma 8013 m flows viciously to Nepal in the south that changes it bursting speed only in Barhabise then runs in Lamosangu Hydropower Dam. It takes three hours driving from Kathmandu along the Arniko Highway to reach Bhote Koshi by bus. Best Season for rafting in Bhotekoshi is Jan-May, Oct-Dec. From the last week of February through end of May and from last week of September till November, it is the perfect time to raft on the Bhotekoshi. Some of the few names of rapids on Bhotekoshi River are – the Great Wall, the Water Paradise, Frog in a Blender, Water world of confusion, Gerbil in the plumbing and the like.
Itinerary of Bhote koshi River Rafting
Day 01: Kathmandu Valley is the starting point Lomosangu-Dam of the trip. This is a spectacular drive through villages and if weather permits, you will have Panaromic mountain views i.e. Ganesh Himal, Langtang etc
Day 02: After breakfast run white water hit again a class 3 rapid starting from upper section. You have the second chance to show how your raft team can work well together in challenging rapids. The take out point Dolalghat Bazaar about 2 to 3 p.m. and drive back to Kathmandu.
