Jiri Everest Base Camp Trekking

This trek is understandably one of the most popular and spectacular destinations for walkers and it offers some of the most fascinating and enjoyable trekking. This is considered the highly praised trekking route to the Everest region. It was in 1952 when two renowned figures Sir Edmund Hillary and Mr.Tenzing Sherpa had taken the same route to Mt. Everest.

After a seven hours scenic drive to Jiri, follow the spectacular route via the Solukhumbu area through the heart of fine Sherpa villages, each village having something new to offer. The trail passes through numerous settlements of different ethnic groups including Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Brahmin, Chhetri and of course, the Sherpas with the opportunity to explore the lifestyle of the Himalayan people, their religion, customs and traditions.

There are many options for additional exploration and high-altitude walking, including the crossing Cho La (5420m), hike to Gokyo Ri.
