This trek is understandably one of the most popular and spectacular destinations for walkers and it offers some of the most fascinating and enjoyable trekking. This is considered the highly praised trekking route to the Everest region. This is a long trek with many features and is highly recommendable to all the trekkers who are keen to walk quite long with gaining height slowly. With ample time and opportunity to visit the Buddhist monasteries of Pangboche, one of the oldest in the area, and Tyangboche, one of the newest as it was rebuilt after being burnt to the ground.
It was in 1952 when two renowned figures Sir Edmund Hillary and Mr.Tenzing Sherpa had taken the same route to Mt. Everest.
After a seven hours scenic drive to Jiri, follow the spectacular route via the Solukhumbu area through the heart of fine Sherpa villages, each village having something new to offer. The trail passes through numerous settlements of different ethnic groups including Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Brahmin, Chhetri and of course, the Sherpas with the opportunity to explore the lifestyle of the Himalayan people, their religion, customs and traditions.
