Saipal mountain is located in the Himalayas of north-west Bajhang district in Nepal. It is at an elevation of 7031 meters (23,064 feet). Saipal attracts mountaineers from around the world. It is known for its striking natural beauty, ruggedness, rich biodiversity and untouched natural beauty. This is a remote region and less visted by tourists as compared to other tourist destinations of Nepal.
It falls within the Saipal Conservation Area and it is home to several rare and endangered species, including the snow leopard, Himalayan black bear and red panda. Climbing Saipal requires technical mountaineering skills and the Saipal region offers opportunities for trekking as well.

The Saipal Himal Trek
The Saipal Himal Trek is a trekking route in the far-western region of Nepal which offers a unique opportunity to explore the less-visited landscapes of Nepal. It is a less crowded trekking route in Nepal. The trek usually starts from the Chainpur of the Bajhang district of Nepal. It is easily accessible by road from Nepalgunj. One of the highlights of the Saipal Himal Trek is the Saipal Base Camp that offers stunning panoramic views of the Saipal Himalayan Range. It is located at an altitude of 4200 m (13,780 ft).
The trek to the base camp is challenging with steep ascents and rugged terrain. The duration of the Saipal Himal Trek can vary depending on the itinerary you choose, usually takes around 14 to 18 days. During this peroid it also includes the acclimatization days. The best time to undertake this trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. During these seasons the weather is generally stable and the views are clear.
