Everest Base Camp Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu to Lukla (2840 m) and Phakding (2610 m): Fly to Lukla

After arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you’ll be taken to your hotel and final preparation for trekking. Luka is located at 2840 m and after reaching there within 35 minutes your trekking starts from Lukla but the first day’s walk is a gentle descent to the village of Pakding 2610 m. It is just more than three hours away depending on your walking speed. After reaching the valley, cross the bridge and also be certain that there isn’t any yak coming from your opposite side-the right of way inside the region favors animals!

Day 02: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3446 m):

Pakding to Namche Bazaar (3446 m), the fabled headquarters with the Sherpas. Namche was essentially the most important buying and selling submit among Tibet, mainland Nepal and India. With the decline in trade, having said that, the local economic system has depended on the climbing and trekking teams. Every Saturday, a weekly market turns this hamlet into an oriental movie set. The first component of the stroll up from Pakding is uncomplicated.

Day 03: Rest day at Namche Bazaar: Acclimatization.

Get relaxation at Namche Bazaar for your next adventure. One such stroll is leading from the ridge above the city to the national park headquarters. From close to this creation, a panorama awaits you: Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku and Kang Taiga on the best; Ama Dablam, the Lhotse-Nuptse wall with Everest showing its crest from behind, and Taboche to your left.

Day 04: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867 m):

The path takes you past the Syangboche airfield to Khunde, another Sherpa Village. This landing strip at 12,200 ft/ 3,718 m is employed to fly out rather than to fly in because of the acclimatization challenge. The trail is through thick birch and fir forest where in spring, rhododendron will dazzle you. Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal. Khunde and Khumjung are twin villages on the possible side of a stream with Khumbu’s sacred mountain, Khumbila, towering over.

Day 05: Tengboche to Dingboche (4252m):

Whilst heading from Khunde to Tangboche monastery, quit at the monastery at Khumjung to check out what exactly is ostensibly a yeti skull! When taken to The us for verification in 1960 by Hillary, the scalp was found to be made of antelope pores and skin. The route from Khumjung joins the key trail to Tangboche at Sanasa. It winds its strategy to Treshinga after which dips steeply towards the Phunki Tenga village (ten,660 ft / 3,250 m) where you cross more than for the other facet with the Dudh Kosi. Becoming the lowest level around the trek, it’s also the warmest. Swap backing up a tough climb, reach Tangboche, one of the most sacred monasteries in the location.

Day 06: Rest day at Dingboche: Acclimatization.

It is important to take another day to acclimatize to the rising altitude and it will help your body prepare for the high altitudes ahead.

Day 07 & 08 : Dingboche

A straightforward climb brings you to Dingboche. Just lounge around there, or get a walk. The next two days are tough. Climb up for the tea shops at Chukung, then towards the Chukung Ridge at 17,700 ft / 5,395 m, on a steep trail right after crossing the Imja Khola river. Makalu, Imjatse (also called Island Peak), and Baruntse peaks are for your east. In the north, you are just under the Nuptse-Lhotse wall. Using the cold night approaching, descend fast to Dingboche.

Day 09, 10 : Kala Pathar

On strategy to Lobuche, you are on the Khumbu glacier and get the first taste of walking on a lateral moraine. A retreating glacier leaves rocks and stones behind: walking can be taxing on your calves. Take your time and do it in six hours.

The ascent for the Kala Pathar or the Black Peak (18,200 ft / 5,547 m ) is your rendezvous with climbing history. From this ridge top in 1951, Shipton and Hillary got a glimpse of the route over the Khumbu icefall. From Lobuche, stroll about the moraine for two hours to reach Gorak Shep. From there, start your climb up the Kala Pathar. As you go up, Everest reveals itself a bit and farmed by Khumbuse and Nuptse, finally unmarks itself completely.

Day 11 : Dozonglha

Achieve the yak herders’ summer camp at Dozonglha. The camp is pitched beneath the north wall of Cholatse together with the magnificent Thamserku beckoning from the valley.

Day 12 : Departure

Back at Namche. Following two weeks of isolation, it looks like a metropolis. It is worth your even though soaking within the charms of Khumbu for one more day.

Culture

Sherpas practice Buddhism and along the way, there is the Tengboche Monastery, where you can spend a little time enjoying the atmosphere created by the ever chanting lamas.
