Gaja daha in Baglung

There are many beautiful places in Baglung and Gaja daha is one of them. Gaja Daha is a less visited beautiful travel destination at Jamini Municipality Ward Number 3. It is located at an altitude of 2,480 m from the sea level. Gaza is the meeting place of Jaimini, Baglung and Galkot municipalities and Bareng rural municipality. It is in the east of Jaimini, west of Galkot, north of Kathekhola and south of Bareng. It is not only important for its natural beauty but it is equally important for cultural and historical reasons. The traditional houses around Dah can still be seen which makes this place more interesting. Gaja Dah was also known as Rudra taal.

It is also a nice travel destination for hikers. Hiking can be done via the dense forest viewing beautiful mountain ranges such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Machhapuchhre. There is dense forest if you travel via Baglung Sigana – Baudechaur – Reshko Chapakhark.

There is a Barah Than along with Dah where one’s desires will be fulfilled after worshiping. Fair is held every year on Vaikuntha Chaturdashi and during that time devotees from all over the country come to this place. This place is equally important from a religious point of view.

There is also a homestay named “Siddhabarah Community Homestay” for tourists where you’ll find local organic foods and good hospitality. You can find local dishes such as dhido, potato, corn, sisno (stinging nettle), local chicken, gundruk, local alcohol, local hen and goat etc.

How to reach Gaja daha?

Gaja daha can be reached via Pokhara, Baglung from Kathmandu which is 291 km approximately. It is 24 km far from Baglung Bazaar. You can reach Gaja daha by foot or by jeep. You can reach there by approximately four-hour walk, depending upon your waking speed. By jeep or other vehicle you can reach in about 1.5 hours.
