Thulakot hill

Thulakot Hill (ठुलाकोट डाँडा) is located at the eastern hill of central Pokhara Metropolitan City-28. It is on the north side of Begnas Lake in Pokhara. It is a beautiful and peaceful place in Pokhara to see panoramic views of the Himalayas ranges like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Macchapuchre (Fishtail), Lamajung Himal, lakes of Pokhara and sunrise, sunset in the morning and evening. This place also has historical, cultural and religious significance.

Before the unification of Nepal (Baise/Chaubise kingdom) it was the largest Kot in the Gandak region, so it was named Thulakot. At that time, there used to be an army camp at this place to face the threat of attacks from the neighboring Lamjung state. At that time, God Kalabhairava and Goddess Durga were worshiped here.
